“Total Commander Directory menu” What’s this? - this is a dropdown popup menu used to hold your *fixed* frequently used folders around your system and local network. How often you use it? couple times a day? hundreds? it doesn’t matter! it saves you lot’s of time and it’s just great.

But! when you are dealing with the rest of the apps you have on your desktop they used to have good old standard Open/Save dialogs in there, yeah they used by you alot too along the day and Unfortunately they don’t have favorites folders bookmarks.

So we definately have to find the way out, how to improve Open/Save dialogs, that’s why I came out with that kind of util for all of us. Here is how it’ll look like in action:

each time you see standard Open/Save dialogs, you could use favorites folders right there all round system.. this will definately save you many hours browsing for folder in long run.

With this tools you will be able to view SWF, FLV movies, browse swf’s as thumbnails, extract MP3, JPG resources, view/extract files from MXP packages, search swf files by flash player version, resolution, etc. sort swf movies by header info, multi rename capability, and much more useful features.

Computer application programs (aka ‘productivity’ titles) are a funny thing. They appear to fall into one of two categories; one, you don’t need it (anything that TechTV and the rest of the media ignore) or two, your soul will be stolen in the middle of the night if you don’t have it (anything they can scare the living crap out of consumers with). By default you’ll see something like this

while browsing your swf-movies as thumbnails, ugly and pity huh!? Don’t worry it’s easy to fix, just install SWF Helper, activate it in preferences:

Navigate to your swf-movies folder, tada!!

What is that wdx-plugin means?

This is the new type of plugins for TC 6.5+, it’s called WDX(Content plugin) it can help you to find, rename your swf’s and add custom columns to panel

Heh, that’s pretty simple - this plugin will help you to sort, rename, find your *.swf files in more advanced way than other tools do. For example you can teach TC to search for all uncompressed *.swf files having dimensions greater than 468×60 with frame rate equal to 12 compiled for Flash Player version 6. And so on …

Installation

• Zip archive contains “installation file” for TC, so just open
  archive and TC will install plugin.
• Goto Options->Custom columns;
  select some view (#N) and add several columns to it;
  for each column press “+” and select some field from swfc list.
  For example, I recommend you to add fields:
  fpVersion, Compressed, Resolution.
• Turn on custom view:
  Show->Custom columns->#N;
  go to your swf’s folder and enjoy!

Why do you need MXP Lister plugin ?

Here are a few thoughts on topic..

When Macromedia Extension Manager tells you “The extension package is invalid. The extension will not be installed.” or “Flash MX does not support the extension type ‘Smart clip’” you can’t do nothing to install this particular extension, you have just binary *.mxp file… Fortunately with MXP Lister you can manually extract any file from any *.mxp package and use it.

When you about to install mxp package through Extension Manager you don’t know where unpacked files will be copied to, due to a poor written package description, you can’t find where the extension is and how to access it.

With MXP Lister you can view all package content and where it will be copied to, when installed through Extension Manager. Also you can quickly decide install or not to install particular package.

Anyway if you will need only one or several files from existing MXP package you don’t have to install it, just unpack required files with MXP Lister, avoid superfluous actions and save your time.
